In Rotaida and the Runestone,

red-haired Rotaida, thrust into a village of dark-haired Franks, is caught between her mother’s pagan religion and advancing Christianity. Villagers call her “demon-sired witch-child” and say her mother was thrown out of the palace for sorcery.

Raoul, whom she thought her father, claims he never sired her, and sells her as a slave in Charlemagne’s palace. Seeking her natural father, and to know who she really is, Rotaida finds both friends and enemies.

The palace is a place of ghosts, intrigue and fear of her life. Ordered by evil “ghost queen” Fastrada to poison the king, will Rotaida yield to a promise of freedom and wealth and obey the queen? Or will she obey her conscience and risk Fastrada’s vengeance? Her fate, and the fate of all Christianity in Europe, depend on what Rotaida decides and does.

In Royal Spy Rotaida, eavesdropping on two Saxons, is kidnapped and carried away by water, leaving no tracks. Escaping her captors, witch Morag and her henchman Henrik, Rotaida learns of a Saxon plot to kill Charlemagne, enable a Saxon army to defeat Francia, and wipe out Christianity in Europe.

Disguised as a Hessian boy, Rotaida begins a series of strange adventures as a spy in Saxonia. Can she survive, find out what she needs to know and make her way home in time to save her king and country?
